Just Six Companies Create About a Quarter of Global Plastic Waste, Survey Finds

A new study shows a strong correlation between a company’s plastic production and the amount of plastic pollution they contribute.

  • For every 1% increase in plastic use by a company, their contribution to plastic litter increases by 1%.
  • The study is based on data from brand audits in 84 countries where volunteers collected over 1.8 million pieces of plastic waste.
